Batch Bakes is a mother-daughter bakery focused on spreading joy one cookie at a time.

The clients came to me with a Canva made logo they felt was not strong enough to carry the vision for their brand. They envisioned a decadent yet familiar brand that would begin in a small capacity (local farmers markets, fairs etc...) before growing it into a brick and mortar and distributing business. The recipes are all passed down from the family and incorporating that nostalgic touch was a key ask for the clients.

I worked the team to create a identity that felt approachable and decadent, with room to evolve as they grow. The clients were initially drawn to motifs of cookies as that is their primary product. However, with their desire to grow we decided to move away from a product focused illustration in the wordmark. Instead, we landed on a whisk as the illustrative mark as it is a timeless tool used in kitchens to whip up delicious treats that bring joy with each bite. This choice felt aligned with the clients initial desire to have a brand that was founded to bring delicious treats to its community.
